How to Apply for Emergency Food Assistance
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) makes commodity foods available to state distributing agencies like Bushkill Outreach Program, Inc. that directly serves the public as a community food pantry. Recipients of food for home use must meet income and household eligibility criteria. The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) is provided by PA Department of Agriculture, Bureau of Food Assistance.
To apply for assistance, a “Self-Declaration of Need” form must be completed and signed prior to the new fiscal year which begins each year on July 1st. The current TEFAP will be effective July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025.
